updated: 2026-05-16
description: A directory of local and statewide resources in Greater Portland, Maine — food, healthcare, legal help, rent and utilities, detention support, and case management.
---

A working list of resources our neighbors have used. Most are in Greater Portland or statewide Maine; a few cover Massachusetts (for people detained out of state). If you find a phone number that's changed or a link that's broken, [let us know](mailto:hello@rivertonneighbors.me).

Before you call or email a resource on this page: share as little identifying information as possible at first. Ask general questions to see if a service is the right fit before giving out a full name, address, date of birth, or other personal details. If you're helping someone else, make these calls together when you can — and help them learn the routes so they can navigate them on their own.
